Interpreting for public authorities

German → Spanish | Spanish → German | English → German

As a sworn interpreter for the Spanish language, I interpret at official appointments, e.g. for the Freiburg Regional Court, the Freiburg District Court, the registry office or public notaries in Freiburg and the surrounding area. Two types of interpreting are generally used in these settings:

Liaison interpreting

I interpret shorter segments of a conversation, going back and forth between the languages, usually sitting or standing between the interlocutors.
This is a form of consecutive interpreting, meaning I first listen to a part of the original speech before rendering it in the target language.

“Chuchotage” or “whispered” interpreting:

I sit or stand close to the listener and translate what is said for them in a low voice.
This is a form of simultaneous interpreting where I listen and speak at the same time.
